Armbian (Ubuntu) fully works from source code.
Vendor Kernel with some fixes;

I use amd laptop to build image;

get source code
git clone https://github.com/armbian/build.git

install docker

download and apply git patch (genbook, sound, touchpad and battery patch)
genbook,_sound,_touchpad_and_battery_patch.patch

then compile
./compile.sh build BOARD=coolpi-genbook BRANCH=vendor BUILD_DESKTOP=yes BUILD_MINIMAL=no DESKTOP_APPGROUPS_SELECTED='browsers chat desktop_tools editors email internet multimedia office programming remote_desktop' DESKTOP_ENVIRONMENT=gnome DESKTOP_ENVIRONMENT_CONFIG_NAME=config_base DOWNLOAD_MIRROR=bfsu EXPERT=yes EXTRAWIFI=no KERNEL_CONFIGURE=no RELEASE=resolute BUILD_IN_DOCKER=yes

and flash img

wireless, usb-c, touchpad, sound, hdmi, display, battery works
